Mass Communication Society
Mass Communication Society is a senior high co-curricular activity offered by Dunman High School. Lessons are conducted by experienced individuals from the media industry, imparting professional knowledge about video production.

I was a member of this CCA from 2022 to 2023. In weekly CCA sessions, I picked up many new skills from the trainers and had the chance to practice on industry-used platforms. We also have opportunities to participate in various competitions, learning more from other participants as well. The school would also often engage us to produce different videos for the school's use, such as videos to celebrate the various festivals and themed videos shown during orientations.

National Chinese Short Film Competition
This is a yearly competition organised for students from all institutions to participate in. Students will form teams to be like a real production crew to produce a short film according to the theme that year. Aside from cultivating talents from the young, the competition also aims to improve the Chinese Language among the younger generation.
2022
The theme for NCSF Competition 2022 is Hope (​希望).
​
​We decided to work on it from the perspective of losing loved ones, which in most instances many would lose motivation in life. However, when dealing with these unexpected events, there are also people and things around that could still be our hope in life.
​
​For this project, the whole team participated in every process from the start to the end. It was the first time I experienced being in a production crew, producing a short film for a competition.

2023
The theme for NCSF Competition 2023 is Awakening (​觉醒).
​
​We decided to take on the challenge of filming a comedy, addressing the theme by suggesting that everyone should just be awakened to the fact that they should always be themselves and not be bothered by others' views of them.
​​
Similar to the previous year, the whole team participated in every process from the start to the end. With experience from the previous year, everyone was more into the situation and had higher hopes of winning the competition.

EAS Video
In Dunman High School, Teachers' Day is celebrated in conjunction with Executive and Administrative Staff's (EAS) Day. EAS refers to the staff that serve the school through other means apart from teaching. This includes canteen vendors, security personnel, lab technicians and more.
​
The student council initiated this video to let students know more about these behind-the-scenes figures. Hence, they approached them and conducted interviews, then passed the footage to us to request our edit. I was then arranged to edit this video. This marks my first video edit that was used for official purposes. Although there are a lot of improvements to be made as I look back now, it was still a great learning opportunity of mine at that time.

“Script It Right” Chinese Radio Drama Script Writing Competition
We also got the opportunities to participate in radio drama competitions and the workshops conducted by the organisers. This experience would be a really unique one as we got to know more about another aspect of broadcast media.
