Changi Travel Services

Changi Travel Services (CTS) is a subsidiary of Changi Airport Group (CAG) that operates Changi Recommends, a travel concierge providing an extensive range of leisure and business services such as ChangiWiFi, SIM cards, foreign exchange, corporate travel management and airline general sales.

I joined CTS as a video production intern from January to July 2024, assisting the multimedia designer in producing content for the company. As the team was merely the both of us, we had to be in charge of the whole video production process from planning to filming and finally editing. Apart from video production, we also received requests from other departments for other types of content such as photos. This is a whole new venture for me as I got the chance to witness and participate in the content creation for the corporate sector. This was no doubt an extremely enriching and fulfilling journey of mine.

"In Conversation With" Videos

"In Conversation With" is a video series that aims to let employees understand more about the job scopes of various colleagues in different departments. Every month, we will approach a business unit/a team of employees in the company to share more about their daily work and responsibilities. Apart from that, they also talked about the perks of being in the company, sharing more on things apart from work.

In Conversation With: HR

In the first episode, we talked to the Strategic HR Analyst from the HR team to learn more about her experiences in CTS.

In this episode, I participated in filming the interview, posing as the interviewer to ask some questions. I was also handed a second camera to film extra footage from the side view of the interviewee.

In Conversation With: Retail

Following that, we approached the largest business unit of CTS, the retail team. Front-end and back-end staffs participated in the video, making it more diverse with the many perspectives.

The production of this video was very challenging as the initial stages of filming were done by a colleague not in our team due to our unavailability to film them ourselves. Hence, the interview contents were a bit off and were rejected by the management for it to be released. We had to refilm the video and the whole production was stretched, delaying the project.

Thereafter, I participated in the whole production from the brainstorming of the video organisation to filming and editing. This remains as one of the projects I am most satisfied with.

In Conversation With: Refund

The next video will talk about the daily life of the refund team.

I also participated entirely in this project from the start to the end. Through this project, I managed to learn much new knowledge and picked up techniques regarding the use of two cameras on set and the syncing of two pieces of footage afterwards.

In Conversation With: IT

The last video of this series I participated in before leaving was with the IT team.

I only managed to attend the planning and filming sessions for this production. The above is a footage from the filming session during the IT team meeting that was to be used as the B-roll.

Chinese New Year Videos

A few videos were produced to celebrate the festive occasion of Chinese New Year. These videos were created in 2024, the year of the dragon.

CNY Message

This is a special message from the general manager to the employees of CTS.

On the very first day when I reported for work, I got the opportunity to join the filming session for this video. Although I was not very familiar with the equipment and relevant process, it was a great session for me to learn more as I carefully observed what the multimedia designer was doing.

CNY Greetings

This is a video with new year messages by CTS employees from around the world, joining in the joyous occasion even far back in their own countries.

I did not participate much in this video, but only gave some comments and feedback to the multimedia designer after viewing the video for her to work on some areas for improvement.

CNY Celebrations

This video records the Chinese New Year Celebrations, which include the company lunch and red packet distribution.

As my team leader was away in her hometown, I had to learn the ropes to record a company event as I was new and just joined the company back then. Besides capturing candid moments, I was also in charge of editing the video that summarises these events.

This was a small milestone for me as it was the first project that I did all by myself that was shared with the whole company.

General Manager's Farewell Video

In a manpower adjustment of the company, the General Manager of CTS returned to CAG to take on another role to lead other projects. Hence, we made this video to bid him farewell and all the best for his future endeavours.

For this video, I was mainly in charge of sourcing the photos and videos of the GM since he was in CTS, which dates back to 2012. As the footage obtained was quite limited, we discussed and decided to add interviews of colleagues to piece up the video together. After finalising the content, the multimedia designer went around to film short interviews while I was in charge of other admin matters such as collecting the names of the interviewees for the main editor's use.

Townhall 2024 Videos

Townhall is a CTS company event where all employees gather together yearly for the GM to address the company on its revenues and focus of the upcoming year. To consolidate the year, videos were made to be shown in townhall to highlight the memorable moments of the past year. The three following videos that sum up the year were all mainly organised and edited by me.

This video was also produced to record Townhall 2024.

On the day of townhall itself, I was in charge of capturing footages of the event. Thereafter, I passed the footage over to another short-term intern who was tasked to edit it.

Corporate Travel Marketing Video

This is an external promotional video produced by our team to market our business-to-business corporate travel services.

This was one of the most formal and official videos I have participated in throughout my time at CTS. Due to its importance, it had to go through many revisions and the project was stretched over nearly five months, which was the longest project I joined. The Multimedia Designer handled this project mainly, hence I only participated mostly in assisting her with filming the necessary footage, taking on the role of an assistant director on set.

Retail Marketing Video

This is also an external promotional video produced to market our business-to-customer services provided by our brand Changi Recommends.

This was the last project I participated in before leaving the company. I only managed to join the pre-production and initial production stage of this video, where we finalised the storyline and filmed some parts in the video. This project was very memorable to me as it was the first time I got the opportunity to go overseas with the team to film some of the scenes.

Travel Recommends Philippines

This is another external promotional video produced to market our business-to-customer services provided by Travel Recommends, our overseas counterpart of Changi Recommends. The Philippines side initiated these marketing videos for promotion in the Philippines and we mainly assisted them in filming at the counters when they were in Singapore.
